Hope everyone is doing as well as they can possibly be doing. I wish for everyone...to have bright sunny pleasant days the rest of the summer. And, I hope that you'll all sandwich a few minutes here and there to stop in once in awhile so we know things are ok w/you. We have missed seeing you all regularly around here for sure. Not too much going on as far as events. One important day for us, JULY 10TH!! is VAN's Birthday!!!! Van, our little Tweety Pie! We hope it's a right FANTASTIC one for you!!!! And of course, I wish everyone a safe and lovely 4th of July celebration. Posts: 229 07/01/09 09:05 PM	Awwww...thanks so much! :D I can't believe July is here, honestly. So much goes on this month. Between church and 4H, my birthday, our mystery trip, the 4th, Hay season (we have SO much to cut yet), the Lincoln county fair, the balloon glow, Garden Walk, and strawberry picking (just starting up here tomorrow!)........well ,it'll be interesting to see us get everything done. :-) We got the garden weeded today, in about 5 hours. It's getting easier, and we're harvesting lettuce and spinach and radishes already. There are still somet higns i have to plant again, darn it, but at least it looks like something is out there now. :) This cold weather is crushing a lot of spirits out here.....at least we'll see 80 by the weekend. As long as it's warm and clear for the 4th on Saturday!! We go out to my moms for a bbq and to watch the fireworks in my old hometown. We'll stay overnight out there, since i don't want to drive at night! I'm going to pick up one of my childhood friends and bring her along with us, so it should be fun!! I hope everyone has a less painful and stressful July. Thins need to ease up a bit so everyone can try to enjoy the summer time while it is actually here... Hugs and good night!!! Hope to chat soon!

Way back when our kids were the ages yours are, it was just on constant "go" all the time. But be thankful!! They are at wonderful stages of life and these things are all precious and cherished memories for when you're old and feeble like me... Ha!! I miss those days. 5 hours worth of weeding would have just done me in!! I'll bet you're a bit sore. Weeding is hard work!!! Remember not to overdo though girlie!! And...unfortunately, summer colds are making the rounds ALREADY!!! Darned things! I found out yesterday that the city wide garage sales aren't until Labor Day weekend!!! accccck!!! I think J will hang me from the rafters if he doesn't get his garage back before then, ha!!! But then, it may take me that long just to get it together. It also, has been a challenge & I can honestly say that not ONE project has been started or completed towards furthering the renovation around here YET!! Just incredible. No one has any gumption I guess. Got any to spare???? :) Carole... If you see the little (?) to use the smilies...I don't understand why the little yellow smiley guy in your tool bar isn't showing up for you to use. What's up there instead??? You should see this toolbar above your post box: and when you click on the yellow smiley guy, the drop down box w/the reg. smilies should be there. If it's there for you, what happens when you click on the smiley guy? I wish we could get it going for you. Have been keeping you and the michael situation in my prayers. Sometimes the only thing we can do as a mom is say "God, this child is fully in your hands & I am going to trust you to bring him/her to the logical end of the mess they've gotten themself into". In fact, this is what I'll pray for michael. And for his protection through it, as well as God's revelation of the truth of the life he's been leading, the choices he's been making. I'm sorry you have this weighing on you. When we carry our children's burdens...it makes ours seem feather weights in comparrison! God won't abandon him Carole. Michael may still choose all the wrong paths, but God is ever at the ready whenever Michael has had enough of himself and the dead end roads he's traveled. It doesn't make the heart hurt less as a mom, but it can give you the slightest hint of hope for maybe a better day ahead. You girls have a safe and happy 4th!

The doc said there is nothing mechanically wrong with my knee and I should see a pain management guy about it. I can't get my bridge right and my mouth and face are sore. I have no tool bar anymore. That is the problem. I shall refer to my list, which takes longer but at least I have my emos. For some reason it doesn't put in the paragraphs either...

You can minimize it's size and keep it up the whole time so that you have them right there at your disposal anyway. That's something, I guess. Stress is THE MAIN prod for increased pain!!!! If my stress goes up...I take a generic zanax anymore. I used to be so against that, but since 60 my thinking has changed enormously! Increased pain, decreased everything else... what a pib! and I hope despite all the turmoil and heartache intermingled, there will be some blessings for you this holiday week end. :

I am a doer by nature and I an antsy to do more than library stuff. I want to go somewhere and do something easy. I am in no great shape, but surely thre is something I can do! I have no plans for the weekend either. All my close friends live far away. Oh well, I shall stop complaining.

The strange weather's put a damper on things too. I guess if the boredom gets to me too much, I can always go out in the back yard and pick up twigs and branches. Since I have to do the lawn mowing, it's a good idea to get rid of the debris from the storms and stuff. ACK! Now rain predicted for tomorrow too? Life is strange. Posts: 392 07/04/09 08:16 PM	Well.. its been very hot here.. Literally!!! I went down to the Uni last week- to turn in Transcripts- walked under a tree- that is beautiful, smells great, and.. well, I'm allergic to it- so for the last there days- I've lost my voice. Its back now- but it was all Allergy stuff... I got some of those Fishermens throat drops- couldn't get Horehound- and boy- those really helped. Awesome things. So, things are improving. Just waiting to hear from the Uni..sigh.. (Anticipation.. lalala) The fourth has been quite- I went and drove a tractor (lawntractor actually) in a neighborhood parade.. that was a kick! We had quite a few people join us this year! :) It was fun.. Then we all said the Pledge of Alligence- and ate Ottor pops... :) Then I came home, did some shoping- and basically have taken it easy since then. Its been glorious out- but very, very hot!!!!! Great start for July... :) So, I'm back to eating Raw foods, and saleds, fruits, nuts and berries.... no wheat if I can help it. Been making Cheesecake pies for everyone tho.. made a Oreo crust one, with filling-cheesecake with cookie (mashed up Oreo type cookies from Mexico) and put Ghiradelli Semi sweet chocolate chips on the top.... :) Next week- I have friends coming, and also a Temple Ceremony that i Need to participate in .... looking forward to that! :) So- barring College admissions- it will be a quite month hopefully!! Hopefully things will improve for you Carole...Stress can be a killer.. literally- it can bring on RA Flares, Fibro Flares, and any number of things (even Cardiac arrest).. getting out, and meditating may be a help for you.. finding a quite place, and just unwinding- can be a help. Doing brainless things, like weeding- also is a help.. as well as slow walking, drawing, exercise.. you name it... just time alone, and communing with nature can even be a help... Hopefully, it will get better for you- you have my thoughts Carole.. Cheers everyone! Enjoy the summer!

Posts: 297 07/09/09 07:41 AM	Hello, everyone! Wolf, the cheesecakes sound wonderful! I enjoy making them, too, but have been on my best behavior this past month while daughter has been away. Like you, I've been eating mostly fruits, salads, nuts & seeds, well, as much as my current dental problems will allow. Also, lots of salmon and whey protein drinks. Well, I haven't been getting much sleep lately mostly due to severe stress; however, got some urgent things done yesterday and had 6 hrs last night. I'm going back to bed now and hope my book puts me back to sleep for another hour, we'll see... Carole, wish I could take that road trip with you! In Arizona, I get cabin fever during the summer -- finally got hot here, ugh! Anyway, just wanted to check in and say Hello. I'm hoping things might go better now although I do have the big hurdle of Monday's Early Resolution Conference for the divorce.

Posts: 101 07/09/09 09:45 AM	Hello everyone i sounds like the fourth went well. I went to the fair grounds with the family and watched the fire works and listened to some bands play. I was in alot of pain but had a good time. Sorry i have not been arouund the pain has been so bad the pain doctor put me on morphine but i had a bad reaction to it so just been taking ibruprophine vicodine and muscle relaxers it helps some i see the doctor again at the end of the month i hope he can come up with some idea on what to do for the pain. I started getting mirgraines again last month and it has me behind in school could not do anything for a week. I am doing a little better now so i thought i would check in and let everyone know how i was doing. I hope and pray everyone here is doing well and has a good month and not to hot of weather over the weekend it was in the 100's here to hot for me. God bless everyone cindy

Gracie, take some Valerian tea before the meeting Monday. Mine was not a contentious divorce but everso painful. Being in the same room was difficult. I was a mess. Wishing you to be strong. I hope all will go alright for you on Monday gracie...Please come & let us know when you're up to it. I am still reeling from the information gleaned about our friends divorce. And about this point & time, with everything so messed up all around, I think the world is spinning quickly toward it's demise. We just had several arrested in our county and dogs seized from a huge national dog fighting ring yesterday. My dear God, what a horrible world we live in anymore!! Looking at these poor animals makes you absolutely sick with grief. For them, for the lost and depraved people who think nothing of doing this to such beautiful spirited animals. I am just NOT WANTING ANY MORE BAD NEWS NOW OR EVER!! I would far rather go through whatever life I have blind and oblivious to man's inhumanity to one another and His beautiful creation. I think I've just "had it"!! Anyway...my rant for the day. Cindy, where is the bulk of your pain located on your body? Is it localized or pretty much all over? And can you explain it a bit? Is it acute and like "lightning bolt pain" or a long drawn out dull thing? Does it come and go? The reason I ask is that I have CFIDS and FMS and CMPD as well as arthritis and each of these things causes a unique and different pain. They all DO sort of overlap, but I can tell most of the time what needs the most attention at any given time. So if you could try to explain it a bit, I might have some hints for relief, at least things that have helped me greatly to endure. Lately, I'm like Jazzie. Experiencing some heart stuff. I tried and tried to sleep last nite, but it was close to 5 a.m. before I could get comfortable enough to fall off. Then I must have slept until somewhere between 9:30 & 10 a.m. this morning. I am still aching and weary and plain out miserable today. I took a generic zanax today about 11:00 a.m. and it has helped some in staving off this constant heart out of rhythm thing that's been going on every day. Ever since turning 60 in April...my heart has been doing this regularly. If it doesn't end, I guess I'll have to go see about it. I already have a leaky heart valve and now it just feels some days like it's gurgling or percolating away in there. Geeeeze! This is the first I've had the computer on today & will leave shortly here, as I'm just not up to snuff. No "book work" today. Well, you all take care. I luv ya's and keep you in my prayers. I have to make some food to take to a neighbor on Sat. as she's having metatarsal tunnel surgery tomorrow. And I have to try to feel good enough to clean at least some of this messy house by monday, as my sister's coming & I hope to have a cake and a meal ready for her birthday. I really could use a bit of extra prayer too...just to get to Tuesday. Jer will be gone to a family thing all day Sat. and I'll be here alone (w/the critters all day). Hoping I will feel well enough to do all that has to be done. I won't sweat the small stuff however. Wolf...good to see ya. I know you're extremely busy too. But thanks for stopping in. You're missed when you're away. MamaT...how's it going w/dh?? You hang in there too & try not to wear yourself too thin trying to pick up the slack when he's down. It can happen. Posts: 392 07/09/09 11:09 PM	Wow.. So much going on!! It just never seems to end at times. Things are going alright.. somewhat tired- but ok. Looks like I'll be somewhat busy the last week of August--until?? Yup.. Uni, and all my musik stuff.. the busy time of the year is coming soonly....sigh However, all is well. I'm teaching my summer students composition right now- as well as harmony and chords. Its a real kick watching the kids compose songs at the Klavier...its amazing what they can really do once they understand what you're asking! :) But like everything else- its a learning process- both for the student- and Moi! I learn alot from my students- its really amazing. For instance- I learned that perhaps my directions are not the most clear at times-- and that I have to take things in smaller steps. Yup- I had to look back on prior attempts by others- and how they initiated the exercises-- and discovered that its a bit easier to write the melody- and have them include the harmony- in the first variation exercises ( write in the bass to the melody). I did this today- with one of my younger students- and he surprised me- by actually using more than one voice in the bass! I expected note upon note- and he produced chords! I was astounded. Totally. So- well... one of the things I learned recently... :) By the way- the piece is sixteen measures worth of Twinkle, Twinkle little star... I picked something that I felt all of them could understand... The muscles in my right palm, are still bothering me-- this morning, I couldn't close my hand up-without it hurting. Not sure what I did to reaggrivate it- and I feel also, that some of its the Arthritis due to the weather slowly changing. I lost my voice for a while- but its coming back now.... Otherwise, all seems to be OK. And- well.. sorry for not chequing in sooner- I really have been very busy- not to mention anxious. Hope everyone has an exceptional weekend!! Cheers!

Good to hear from you and what you've been up to. The ability to play music is a wonderful skill and talent. I think it's really great also that you are able to share it through teaching. You show a true interest in your students, I believe they are very fortunate. It does sound like a lot to keep up with with each of them being of different skills and levels but I'm sure you do a great job with them. I do hope your palm is soon feeling better. Sometimes mine hurts and is stiff but I know for sure that for me, it's just overuse of the computer mouse. I really need to get in the habit of using the scroll keys. I've had quite a week here. Court on Monday at the wrong location followed by a flat tire in 111° heat as I was on the way to the new address. Daughter called in the middle of one night with an increase in an allergic skin reaction she has been having for months. So I took her to a doctor the next morning and they prescribed 5 days of cortisone tablets which have really helped. However, I was surprised they didn't just give her a shot. Several personal setbacks occurred during the week and affected me emotionally but I am doing much better now. I had one migraine but it lasted less than a day, phew! Also recovered from a scorpion sting several nights ago. That has been one of my biggest fears since moving here. I'm happy to say that although the stinging and tingling were pretty intense, the swelling was minimal and no permanent or long-lasting harm seems to be evident. Anyone really good at figuring out how to do that? We have had an exceptionally cool summer and I LIKE IT! It is a bit too dry but I love the temp in the low 80's. It would have me, and also...it can really reeally make you so sick. Well, I'll be praying for you just the same as I know around here, spider bites no matter how innocuous they may initially seem, can really leave longer term effects that just don't show up right away. I hope this is not the case. I'm so sorry you've had so much to deal with. The stress of all that on top of regularly not feeling well can really take it's toll on a guy!! I wondered about ya and what was going on. I will be so glad when you can put this miserable stuff behind you and open the door for healing. It's a dreadful, hurtful, frustrating, annoying time right now...but it will pass and then life can go forward. You know you are greatly loved & kept in our prayers girlie. Last week my husband was rushed to the emergency room where he almost died they had the emergency reswponce team in his room bringing him back. He was completely dehydrated and had a bladder kidney infection and the night before the hospital did not treat him for that they gave him valiem for the disseaness and it caused him to od because his kidney had failed so they had to revive him the next day he spent a few days at the hospital now he is home and doing much better. My pain doctor is trying everything to help me he tried morphine and i had a bad reaction so now i am on fentynal patches but i think i am having a reaction to them so have not been using them. Most of my pain is in my back its throbbing and achy. My hips and legs ache. I have had migraines every month for the last couple of months. The last few days have been ok the pain is better with the vicodin. I am going to school for medical office management i am taking medical law and ehtics and a academic class so far i am doing well. I hope everryone here is doing well i will try and keep in touch God bless everyone cindy

And you being in such pain but still getting through some pretty heavy duty classes is just amazing! I admire your pluck and your drive! Just be sure to take some down time and take care of yourself when you can. My goodness, you are brave! I wish you all the best and hope that things in school continue to go well & that your pain will get smaller and smaller with each day.Glad the vicodin is helping and I hope it will keep on helping so you can get through it all.
